More to come...

I have been on holidays for the past week so I have put updating the blog to the back burner. Now that I have some new material and soon to have time, I will be posting some new photo's.

Here is one shot that sums up my experience last week....

With my atlas and your photos, I'm really enjoying a tour of your neck of the woods, FD. A couple of questions, and I realise that you are a pilot and not a Geographer by profession - 1] On the St.Lawr.R. pic., W of Quebec, all the fields are long rectangles running in same direction. Your thoughts? 2] On the Penn./N.Jersey border the cultivated curves in the fields. Any ideas on that or are the farmers just plain artistic?
Princetown is my kinda field and apart from the "shed" could be here in England! I fly out of Durham Tees Valley (formerly Teesside International) in N.England. The RCAF flew Halifaxes out of it in WW2 so we have many Canadian connections. It's a nice area, but of course, everything is on a much smaller scale here. Thanks again for your excellent efforts. Cheers

Hey WY,

As per your question's...

1. When "New France" was settled they used the same type of lots that had been used in pioneer regions of medieval Europe. According to People of New France by Alan Greer it allows the settlers numerous advantages. Since houses were built close together building roads was not such a burden and most people had water access to the river for fishing, water..etc.

2.Not too sure if they are not but I will definetly continue to admire their work!

I have not yet been to England but if it looks like the Princeton area I am sure I will enjoy it !

Probably going to be posting some more shots tommorow. Hopefully.

Thanks for the questions and again thank you for the comments !
