Buffalo, New York. Usually have to go directly overhead but since we are VFR we are just doing our own thing and proceeding direct to the destination. Its almost liberating just to go at your own discretion when you are controlled all the time.
The Niagra River the dividing line between Canada and the USA.
The mist you can see in the distance is from Niagra Falls. Wish I could get closer but this is it today.
The Welland Canal hooks Lake Ontario up with Lake Erie which then connects them all to Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. As you can see it would be hard for a ship to go up the Niagra Falls so this route is much more user friendly.
