More Toronto Pics (I know enough already)

Beautiful Day for flying! So we elected for the over head downtown circuit.

A good view at how close to downtown "City Center" airport is. Basically you land, walk to the ferry and a few minutes later you are in the heart of Canada's business district. Porter Airlines will be the only scheduled carrier into City Center and I think they will do well with all the business travellers. All the "squatters" with 100 year leases on the Island as well as the downtown inhabitants want the airport closed as it is a source of noise pollution and also pollution from the planes. I wish I had my camera and could have taken a video from Queens Cay of a Dash 8 400 taking off compared to the car's honking and then when a street car goes by you can hardly hear yourself think. No airline could even match the frequency of the street cars so to those of you opposed to the City Center Airport....Quit y'er BITCHIN ! Use all that whining and focus on real problems in Toronto.

The rear end of Porter's Dash 8 Q400. Simple yet refined ? Who am I kidding, I wouldn't know art if it hit me in the face. Still looks hot, as you can see the little APU (auxillary power unit) exhaust pipe sticking straight up.

A totally unrelated shot. In a previous post I was talking about the Peterborough, Ontario area being littered with Drumlins. Well I had ok light today and snapped a shot of them. Its such a pretty area and I love driving through all the little rolling hills.
